Planit North

The North area has a number of groups including a Planit Group which are supported by Planning Together. There is a North Client Forum which is made up of users from the three day centres in that area who meet together weekly and identify and support the resolution of issues which emerge. The Carers First Group continue to meet every month where the main issues are the day service modernisation agenda and self directed support. They are keen to gather information about options and possibilities for the people they support with the new developments that are around.

In North the Local Planning and Implementation Group is called Chip n Pin and members from the Planit Group in the area and Carers First are involved in it. There is also a Group called Taking Part in the West which has now merged with the Chip n Pin Goup. This reflects the changes in Social Work Areas.

The Planit North Group held a conference in April of last year jointly with People First. It gave people who used the three day centres in the area the chance to hear about and engage in the debate about changes to service arrangements locally. A report was produced by Planning Together and People First of the event and circulated to everyone involved.
