They focus on minimising risk while maximising independence and make use of alarms, monitors and sensors which are not intrusive but can give people confidence and help keep them safe.

The Advocacy Project provides a range of advocacy supports to make sure individuals have their voice heard about issues that are important to them.
This can be done on a one to one basis or there are opportunities for individuals to get together in a group and be supported to voice their views about what is affecting them.
The Advocacy Service provides independent advocacy support to those who need it and want it.

CKUK  referred to as Common Knowledge is a small independent charity that provides people with learning difficulties with opportunities to make friends, tell their stories, learn about life and share with others their skills, talents and interests.
They support people with learning difficulties through a variety of project based work. This includes art and drama opportunities through CK Pose, horticultural opportunities through CK Grows as well as an online magazine called CK Clic. There are also opportunities to learn about relationships and sex as well as keeping safe.

TC Young logo a solicitors firm used by fair deal

TC Young has numerous connections with charities and other organisations including national bodies who support people with physical or learning disabilities or those with mental health problems. They focus on how the law can be used to benefit individuals who are unable to represent themselves. They work alongside people to ensure they fully understand their rights and how they can best manage their affairs. This involves all aspects of the law in relation to the Mental Health (Care and Treatment)(Scotland) Act 2003 and the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000. TC Young deliver bespoke training to raise awareness of how people being supported can best use the law for their benefit.

Castlemilk Credit Union Logo

Castlemilk Credit Union Ltd is a member owned, community based financial co-operative, offering services to its members on a not for profit making basis. Their values are founded in the co-operative philosophy of equality, equity and mutual self-help. Fair Deal works closely with the Castlemilk Credit Union and they support the work of Fair Deal in a variety of ways.
The provision of financial services in the credit union is built on educating members in the wise use of money. The Credit Union in Castlemilk continues to work closely with their partners, Castlemilk Budgeting Service whose office is onsite also and is readily accessible by the membership, and the Castlemilk Law & Money advice centre.

 

Ardenglen Housing Association was established in 1990 through the resolve of local council tenants determined to bring change to their area and take control over the improvement and management of their homes. They are a diverse organisation providing high quality homes and services to over 900 households in Castlemilk, South East Glasgow. Fair Deal works closely with Ardenglen Housing Association and their Director Kenny Stocks is on the Board of Fair Deal.
Ardenglen and Fair Deal have some shared staff resource which reduces their operating costs and further strengthens partnership working. Leeanne McGowan has a joint post and provided the necessary financial support to Fair Deal.

EVH takes a comprehensive approach to best practice and has the primary function of supporting 'Committees' in their specific role as employers. Fair Deal works closely with EVH making sure it adopts best practice at all times as and employer and to provide the appropriate support and professional advice to the Board ensuring they can carry out their responsibilities effectively.
