Having A Voice

Fair Deal developed as a result of campaigning by parents for better support for people with Learning Disabilities. We have a long and successful tradition of this with more recent involvement in the Parallel Transport Group which changed the Transport Policy with improved transport facilities and arrangements for people with learning disabilities.

We were also very involved in campaigning to prevent the abuse of  Disabled Parking Bays to ensure they were available for use by Blue Badge Holders which was successful. This was championed by Jackie Bailley MSP.

As well as the campaigning work we support people individually and collectively to make their views known. We consult with people with learning disabilities about matters that impact on them and support them to feedback their views and responses in both formal and informal ways.
