Carers Planit

The Carers Planit Group meet regularly with the Director of Social Work, David Crawford and Stephen Fitzpatrick the Head of Modernisation and Councillor Matt Kerr to engage in matters pertaining to day service change and modernisation. This is very effective as is the involvement of members of the group on the PDS Working Group. It is recognised as an example of good practice. Carers are also supported in the Transport Sub-group who work through proposed transport changes and the impact of the modernisation agenda.
The group have been supported to meet with Shona Robison MSP to discuss and highlight issues regarding self directed support (SDS).  The profiling group has now been disbanded with the task completed.  Members of Carers Planit were involved with some social work services staff going through SDS training to get a better understanding of what is involved. This was very successful and worthwhile for everyone.
